OduBook / Documentation
Every change, documented where people work.
Make documentation part of delivering a change. Developers and coding agents maintain guides alongside the code; OduBook collects those files into a searchable place in Odoo where employees can read what changed and how to use it.
What it does
OduBook in your workflow.
Bring development documentation, user guides and release notes into Odoo, directly from your modules.
- Guides from your modules
- User and administrator guides are assembled from the doc directories of installed modules. Documentation travels with the code it describes.
- A readable change history
- Dated change entries, grouping and personal read markers help employees keep track of updates.
- Documentation in your language
- Translated guides can follow the reader's selected book language, with English as the fallback when a translation is missing.
- Keep and share knowledge
- A document shelf holds Markdown, HTML, PDFs, images and downloads. Export guides, individual sections or selected changes as PDF.
How it works
From setup to everyday use.
Describe the change
Your developer or coding agent updates the module guides and adds a dated change note alongside the implementation.
Deliver it with the module
OduBook assembles the documentation from installed modules, keeping instructions close to the running application.
Help people adopt it
Employees read guides and updates inside Odoo, track what they have read and export the sections they need.
Running OduBook
OduBook reads documentation files; the writing is done by your development workflow. Internal users can read the book, while administrator guides and shelf editing require Settings administrator permissions. PDF export requires wkhtmltopdf.
