Connect is built by specialists with more than twenty years in IP telephony. We have spent those years wiring phone systems into business software, and our mission is simple: Odoo should integrate with any telecommunications service.
Where Connect comes from
Twenty years of dial tone, one platform.
Connect wasn't designed on a whiteboard. It's the fourth generation of telephony integrations we've shipped and supported in production — each one absorbed into the next.

It started with Asterisk
The first integrations wired Asterisk PBXs into Odoo — click-to-call, caller popups, call journals inside CRM. Those modules ran in production at hundreds of companies.

Then the cloud
The Twilio Odoo module brought cloud telephony and in-browser calling to Odoo — no PBX to run, phone numbers provisioned in minutes.

Then the softswitch
A FreeSWITCH integration followed, for teams that wanted carrier-grade switching under their own control.

Every previous integration was rebuilt on a single, modular, technology-agnostic core: Connect. One platform, one data model, providers as plug-in modules.

If your provider isn't on the list, that's a project, not a problem.
Any telecom service
The mission behind Connect is that Odoo should talk to any telecommunications service — PBXs, cloud carriers, messaging platforms, voice AI. The platform's modular core exists precisely so that adding one more provider never means rebuilding anything.
Custom integrations, on your provider
We take custom development work. If you're already with a carrier we don't support yet, we port our modules to it — you keep your numbers, your trunks, and your infrastructure. Nobody should have to change providers to get Odoo telephony.

Source-available, by design.
All of our public products ship with full source code under the Business Source License 1.1 (BSL). It's a source-available license: the complete code is published on GitHub, and anyone can read it, audit it, and modify it — you see exactly what runs next to your business data before you trust it. Evaluation, development and staging use are free, every module installs with a 30-day production trial, and continued production use takes a commercial license, which is what funds the development.
BSL is also time-limited by design: every released version carries a change date, and on that date it becomes available under the GNU LGPL-3.0-or-later and the restrictions lapse. You get open-source-grade transparency today, and open source — guaranteed, in writing, per version — tomorrow.
